Summary Report

"Summary Report" is a summary of information about all tests completed.
If no optimized parameters were icluded in the test, the report will list information about one test only.

See upper section of the report for a histogram of transactions listed sorted according to the amount of profit.

"Summary Report" columns

ID
Test number, depending on the order it was performed in.

Symbol
Symbol of the unit the transaction applied to.

Periodicity
Frequency of data from different units.

Date Range
Timeframe of data from different units

Net Profit:
Total net profit or loss from the use of the system.
It lists potential profit which could be made from the closing of the last position taken by the system during testing.

% Gain
Percentage net profit or loss from the use of the system.
It lists potential profit which could be made from the closing of the last position taken by the system during testing.
This parameter is unavailable during the "points only" test.

Trades
Number of transactions generated.
Only the number of closed transactions is given - it fails to take account of transactions opened at the end of the test.
0 can be displayed - in situations where one signal was generated and the position had not been closed before the end of the test.

Trade Profit / Loss
Number of transactions closed with a profit / number of transactions closed with a loss.

Avg. Profit / Avg. Loss
Average transaction profit to average transaction loss.
Average profit is calculated by adding up transaction profits and dividing the result by the number of transactions involved.
The same applies to average loss.

Status:
One of three results may be displayed - "Completed", "Invalid", or "Terminated".

"Invalid" - the test was invalid, an error in calculations occured (division by 0).
Test results are available but they are hardly reliable.

"Terminated" - this happens if the system rules could not be applied (not enough data - the company has not been quoted for 200 sessions yet, while the test uses a 200-session average).
If the test was interrupted, reasons will be given.
